Collage @ Gotica, Lima, Peru

Initial recap of Collage Music @ El Dragon, Lima(Peru)

Last night was great at the Dragón. It started off a bit shakey because the turntable had not yet arrived, and i didn't pack allot of CDs for my set that night. I mean, they had the set up (CDJ1000s along with a brand new DJM 1000 mixer) and the friendliest staff. The guy who rents out the EQP to the club came up to me on stage and assured me that the decks were on the way. So i started off with the CDs and in 10 minutes the decks were being plugged in, seamlessly the music never stopped. I had so much fun, and the floor was on fire by 1am. By 2am everyones hands were in the sky when i closed up with Blaze's "Be Yourself". Special thanks to Love Monk for their shhh shhh tracks i got to play. Clean!!!! My next stop is GOTICA next friday. There i will be playing along with Felipe Salmon. He and i will be doing interval sets all the way to 6am, so i better get some sleep the night before. Lately sleep has been pretty tough due to my apartment being situated on

Boris Collage @ El Draon (Lima, Peru) Wednesday December 7th

DJ BORIS COLLAGE and MAMA COLLAGE just days before my departure to Lima I will be playing and headlining at the DRAGON over in Barranco, an old quiant neighborhood here in Lima. Ill be on the decks around midnight and play on till 2am. The Scene here in Lima is pretty solid as far as the DJ-Dancer respect. There is good talent here, though in small numbers; nevertheless the kids who throw down, throw down and keep their dancers happy. Electro house and acid seems to be breaking ground here through this one cat i saw play on saturday night. His name is Andy Dyer. He opened up for Dean Coleman from Yoshitoshi. There is a lack of soulful deep house, and the more orchestrated tracks chalk full of instrumentals and song based journey mixes. I am trying to persuade the owener and booking agent for the big club GOTICA to get Lil Louie Vega down here and introduce a spiritual and positive message in house music. I think it would be a good call, and perhaps get Swag down here, and mayb

Forro in San Francisco

Forro Music comes to San Francisco. At the newly opened FAVELA, I am taking a leap into something completely new and refreshing. Having a House-Music and Jazz background and growing up in a Brasilian household it was second nature to love Brasilian music. I was hooked from then on. Brasilian music is a very general statement, and believing it's all about Samba and Bossa Nova is naive. I came out of the Samba block as a child where my mother Rosa would blare it and dance all over the house barefoot with my grandmother, (along with some Julio Iglesias does-Brasil shit) and also a jazz based form of Samba called Pagode. Bossa Nova caught my ear me when I began smoking pot and understaning the love I have for Rio and all of my feelings for the Portuguese language. I was inspired by Antonio "Tom" Jobim, and later Vinicius and Baden Powell. Aside from playing deep house at underground House parties, I would enjoy my private collection of Jazz and Bossa Nova. Magic lives, even when you are at home

Sometimes when you look out the window, you see beautiful things. This look-out i saw something beautiful and i had to show you the magic that life offers. And not because i was in a new place, not because you have to be in a certain context, but everywhere you can capture the magic. Look at yourself in the mirror, and look into your eyes for some time...and remind yourself your crazy, crazy enough to see the magic.

Collage goes to Brasil in San Francisco

Well, Its been a nice rest from reaching out and now its time to inform. After spending 2 weeks in Peru with my girlfriend and having a magical time- its now time to return North-but-South. Sitting on the tarmac on a 737-500 jet in SFO upon arriving from Lima via Huston i checked my voice mail expecting 30 plus messages. Well, it wasn't quite that, but it was definately up there. Within the cue of messages i was pleased to hear the voice of a fellow by the name of Xamba. According to his message he runs this new spot in the city called Favela. In case any of you dont know what Favela is, i suggest you either go the easy route and google it or watch City of God. Though i reccomend you go to Brasil-particularly Rio de Janeiro- and look along the hillsides and notice the vast coat of colorful and run down houses that appear to be stacked on top of eachother. • Favela is a term commonly used in Brazil to describe areas such as shanty towns or slums. The term 'favela' was c

As usual you can catch BorisCollage and his guests bring the love @ The Gallery Lounge 510 Brannan at 4th St. San Francisco. Thank you for supporting collage music. 1. Francois K (Sun Orchestra) Drifting The beat of the drum. The way love will come. How deep is your soul. How deep can your love go? How deep does your will know. This is the slow process we all want to achieve. The process to find what is real, real and good. Good and right is a process that meets the encounter with bad and wrong. The depths of the two are friends in the process. Never to be broken until the moment arises when one will dominate the other. This is the way of the beat that keeps on. The love that we speak of is not the love we are under, together, as people, as humans-all seeking shelter from harm, injustice horror and strife. We need to move our bodies to the slow motion rhyth

Quote From collage

"The claims of the pocket "Venus" from the "Soo" must not be forgotten. Since she was small and of the reversible, air-cooled, selective type, but as perfect as anything ever seen in a glass case. She wore a spray of [deep sandalwood and wooden mystery] with the bloom of Arcady. She spilled her chatter lavishly, and had the small change of conversation right at her fingertips. She had an early-English look, and was deservedly popular with the boys." S.G Bayne "A Fantasy of Mediterranean Travel" 1909.
